So, I've solved the shot and calculated the lens distortion, and undistorted the images. I render in that resolution in Houdini, which looks great. However, when I then change the shot images to my CG render, and select "Re-distort CGI", and save the redistorted sequence by pressing "Save sequence", the alpha channel gets really screwed up. It's really choppy, and not as smooth as it was before i redistorted the sequence.

Am I doing something wrong? Should I not save it via the "Save sequence" button? Is there another way?

If I comp the CG + the undistorted sequence and then redistort that comp in SynthEyes, all looks good because there's no alpha to screw up... But it feels like the wrong way to go. I want to redistort the material BEFORE it enters Nuke, not after.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Have you tried redistorting the alpha and RGB separately?

Thanks for your reply.

I sent an e-mail about this to Russ directly and I just forgot to check the "Keep Alpha" checkbox, which solved it. Smile
