Zoom Filtering Tutorial
This Quicktime movie shows the SynthEyes 2007 zoom-filtering script in action on a shot that contains a zoom in the middle of the shot. You'd like to have the stability of a non-zoom shot during the non-zooming portion, and accomodate the zoom during that time. The script lets you get that. (~10 MB, 4 minutes) download the Zoom Filtering quicktime.
Notes:
- The tutorial is shown at 50% actual size to save space. You can right-click the tutorial and Save As, then have Quicktime display double-size if you like.
- You'll notice that all the tracker points are up in the air---no coordinate system setup was needed or performed, to reduce the tutorial file size.
- The script smoothly transitions between the flattened or filtered portion of the lens field of view to the existing range. The Blend parameter controls the number of frames over which this transition takes place.
- The script can also do Gaussian filtering, with the half-width controlled on the panel. Excess filtering will cause large erroneous motions in the camera path, this is not a bug but a user error.
- The filtering script is available in, and requires, SynthEyes 2007 build 1002 or later.
- Everything is done live in real-time in one take---it's that quick!
