Warehouse Tracker-Cleanup Example

This flash movie demonstrates how to clean up the trackers in an example shot, focusing on two common issues: jumps due to repeating textures using the tracker graph, and far points. After you watch the video, find out more about SynthEyes, or go get the SynthEyes demo edition.

If your browser security does not permit flash movies, you can download the warehouse example quicktime (13.6 MB).

Notes:

  1. Note that though the Far points are deleted in this example, which is a straightforward and common approach, it is also possible to mark them as "Far" on the SynthEyes Coordinate System panel. This will keep them from adversely affecting the solve, and produce direction-only far trackers for those features. By their nature, they will behave differently than normal 3-D trackers, so generally we find it most expedient to delete them.
  2. The camera-view lasso normally selects only trackers that were successfully tracked on the current frame; it excludes trackers that do not have a valid, tracked, 2-D position on the current frame. When you hold down the control key while lassoing, the 3-D points of the trackers are lassoed as well, even if the tracker was not found on the current frame.
  3. The video is 5:00 and 10.7 MB long. Check out all the other tutorials and the manual too (after downloading the demo version).
  4. Mac version is the same, done on a PC due to capture software availability. Machine is a  Core 2 Duo E6600.
